Abstract expressionist, Seth Thomas Matson was born on October 12th, 1970 in Whittier, California. As a world traveler, Seth enjoys collecting art at each tropical destination. Having always been drawn to nature and all things artistic, taking up painting was a natural progression for Seth. The strain of independence manifested immediately in Matson’s style uniquely displays itself in the freshness of his artwork. Working in colors that pop off of the canvas, Seth’s artwork blares earsplitting neon against the white walls. Awash in a world of ideas, Seth trains them from his mind out onto the canvas in an in-your-face representation of his artist soul. Seth’s work reflects on his upbringing in Surf Culture and stands as strong as the surf pounding the shores of his Huntington Beach home and embodies the lifestyle of that area. Although a schooled graphic artist, Matson’s paintings reflect his true passion for art, which flows from his brush to the canvas. In his off time from painting and graphic design, Matson enjoys surfing, mountain bike riding, cooking, independent films, museums and spending time with his wife Jennifer.
